About The Position
Netflix is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager for Machine Learning and Interactive Discovery to lead a team at the forefront of innovation in Generative AI and large language models (LLMs). This role is pivotal in enhancing the Search and Recommendations experiences on the Netflix platform, focusing on content discovery and personalization for our 278 million members across 190 countries. As an Engineering Manager, you will oversee the development of machine learning models and algorithms that power our search and interactive discovery features, ensuring they deliver personalized and contextually relevant recommendations. In this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for scaling and leading a team of experts and engineers. Your team will not only innovate but also operate these algorithms in production. You will guide projects from conception to deployment, collaborating with a diverse range of professionals including behavioral scientists, user experience designers, editors, machine learning researchers, application engineers, and product managers. Success in this role requires a rich background in machine learning and engineering, particularly in driving ML applications at a consumer scale, along with domain expertise in the Search space. You will be expected to foster a culture of engineering quality and operational excellence, while also being adept at giving and receiving feedback, championing new ideas, and empowering your team. The ideal candidate will possess a data-driven mindset, curiosity, and a healthy skepticism, along with the proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that the systems your team owns are not only effective but also of the highest engineering quality.
