Engineering Manager, Merchant Menu Platform

About the position

DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong platform mindset to lead the Merchant Menu Platform team. The team’s mission is to build menu platform capabilities to enable product innovations and increase quality, efficiency, and developer velocity. As the Engineering Manager for the Merchant Menu Platform team, you will lead a group of talented backend engineers to develop impactful features and scalable platforms. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams across the Merchant and Consumer organizations to execute a strategic roadmap that enhances merchant satisfaction and engagement. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of exceptional systems that are scalable, reliable and unlock the best in class product and tech innovations.

Responsibilities

• Be the technologist and system thinker who connects the dots between technology to the business and unlocks business opportunities through tech innovation
• Lead high-impact tech initiatives that shape our Menu Platform
• Work with a variety of cross-functional partners from product, design, analytics, engineering and S&O
• Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 8+
• Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking
• Scale the team by recruiting, retaining and developing highly talented engineers across different disciplines

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in people management leading full stack product teams
• 8+ years of industry experience
• Strong product sense and can be a thought partner with cross-functional peers
• Experience selecting and adopting web technologies to improve testing and performance
• A customer-centric mindset and will apply that to building out platform services
