About the position

The Engineering Manager position at B&H Tool Company is a senior-level role focused on overseeing the engineering department within a plastic extrusion tooling manufacturing environment. The role involves managing engineering tasks related to tooling design and production management, while also collaborating closely with customers to enhance their processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical and/or plastics engineering, particularly in metal tooling design, and will be responsible for leading a team to drive the company's growth and innovation in tooling solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design annular dies and associated tooling for plastic extrusion applications
• Analyze and develop tooling solutions for customer's applications
• Use Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis and polymer profile design to optimize the flow path for the customer's applications
• Present CFD simulation results to customers and recommend design solutions
• Model all tooling using Creo
• Prepare detail drawings for programming and production using Creo
• Assign part numbers to new drawings
• Set up jobs from Sales Order Acknowledgements
• Assist Sales Department in determining the correct part(s) to quote
• Maintain and organize Creo data files
• Maintain AutoCAD data files
• Design Jigs and Fixtures as needed for production
• Participate in sales calls with customers and prospects to address technical details
• Manage production personnel
• Sequence production backlog
• Resolve issues around production assets
• Coordinate facility expansion and/or acquisitions
• Evaluate and recommend/purchase new production equipment
• Assist with production personnel recruitment, hiring and training

Requirements

• College degree in mechanical engineering or plastics engineering or equivalent
• 10 years of proven experience in metal tooling design and building
• Great troubleshooter
• Organized as related to drawing management and details
• Experience with Creo or equivalent software packages
