About the position

The Engineering Manager - Quality at Alps Alpine North America, Inc. is responsible for leading advanced quality activities during new product development. This role ensures that OEM customers' Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) deliverables are met while working cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams. The position involves managing a team of Advanced Quality Engineers and fostering strong relationships with OEM customers to enhance product quality throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced quality activities during new product development to meet OEM customers' APQP and PPAP deliverables.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Lead, grow, and develop a team of Advanced Quality Engineers.
  • Manage all support activities of APQP for new programs.
  • Collect and develop documentation required for customer PPAP approval.
  • Lead Cross Functional Teams to manage and track status of pre/post mass production Engineering changepoints.
  • Manage data, prioritization, reporting, processes, schedules, tools, training, safety, and resources for new product development.
  • Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA reviews to identify and mitigate product performance, reliability, and manufacturability risks.
  • Generate monthly PPAP status summary reports for management and customers.
  • Foster strong working relationships with OEM customers.
  • Collaborate with OEM customers, sales offices, headquarters, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers during product development.
  • Support preparation and follow-up for R@R events and other customer-driven project gates.
  • Ensure new products meet quality objectives at launch and during early production.
  • Lead and support customer plant visits as required.
  • Share lessons learned from previous product launches to drive future improvements.
  • Support certification and compliance to customer-required quality management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Five years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment in the automotive industry with a focus on electro-mechanical products.
