About the position

The Engineering Manager for Software at Genuine Parts Company will lead the development and implementation of the next generation of commerce platforms, focusing on enhancing the post-order experience for B2C and B2B customers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to manage engineering teams, drive technology strategy, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to modernize user experience technologies and improve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the cross-functional GPC team to implement the strategy and roadmap for modernizing the Unified commerce experience.
  • Implement the technology platforms architecture and execute on the roadmap to support new commerce capabilities.
  • Oversee engineering accountability for Unified Commerce Experience applications, including Order History, Invoices, and Payments pages.
  • Deliver and support the platform while integrating design systems to build reusable front-end applications.
  • Lead multiple pods and manage engineering managers to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Promote agile methodologies across the organization to enhance collaboration and innovation.
  • Recruit, manage, and motivate a team of engineers and engineering managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering delivery, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in design, architecture, and development of modern UI and microservices.
  • Strong experience in front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript (ES6), Ajax, jQuery, and NodeJS.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like React, Vue, and Nuxt.
  • Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud computing on major providers (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).
  • Proven track record of leadership, teamwork, and delivering high-impact results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leading and building scalable eCommerce microservices.
  • Expertise in JavaScript testing frameworks like Jest.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
