About the position
This position is part of the Systems Planning group within the Engineering and Construction department at NextEra Energy. The role focuses on managing interconnection studies and supporting the interconnection strategy, acting as a Subject Matter Expert in this area. The position involves collaboration with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure compliance and effective communication throughout the interconnection process.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to all aspects of generation interconnection processes and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with ISO's/Utilities/Regulatory agencies involved in interconnection processes.
- Develop processes to manage and track the studies and modeling processes for NextEra projects.
- Monitor dynamically changing requirements from regional agencies and advise stakeholders on the expected impacts.
- Ensure compliance with regional modeling requirements for new and existing generation projects.
- Contribute new designs or techniques that others within the industry regard as major advances in their area of expertise.
- Facilitate communication with the internal NextEra Engineering and Construction leadership on updates to interconnection requirements.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement of NextEra's interconnection business processes.
- Ensure implementation of standards, policies, training, and support of organization.
- Prepare communications, presentations and conduct meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Work with engineering parties to ensure technical items of PPA and IA are met in plant design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in a related field.
- 3+ years of supervisory/management experience.
