About the position

The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering team at a leading medical equipment manufacturer, focusing on the design and continuous improvement of medical equipment. This role is crucial for advancing technical capabilities, ensuring product quality, and providing support to customer and service teams with technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and a proven track record in equipment design and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of medical equipment, ensuring functionality, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Standardize and maintain technical drawings and documentation.
  • Manage and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical guidance to the manufacturing team, focusing on sheet metal fabrication, controls, assembly, and quality assurance.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist customers and service staff by addressing and resolving technical issues related to our equipment.
  • Develop solutions that align with client needs and ensure product reliability.
  • Utilize engineering software to design and analyze equipment and components.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements and integrate them into workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, controls, and equipment assembly.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems (preferred).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with plumbing, electrical systems, and compliance standards.
  • Experience in automation and control systems is an asset.
