About the position

The Engineering Manager at Incident IQ will lead a C# development team to enhance the company's cloud-based SaaS application tailored for K-12 schools. This role involves managing and mentoring a diverse team, facilitating Agile Scrum processes, and aligning software development with company objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen and leadership skills to foster a high-performance environment and support team members' career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and lead a diverse team composed of tech leads, developers, product owners, UX specialists, and quality assurance analysts.
  • Facilitate the Agile Scrum process to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to development timelines.
  • Encourage the team to focus on right-sized solutions, efficient work habits, and the completion of tasks in a timely manner.
  • Balance the resources effectively to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Foster an environment that promotes accountability, innovation, and high-performance.
  • Hold regular 1:1 meetings with team members, offering constructive feedback, addressing issues, and discussing career development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and other stakeholders to align software development with company objectives and strategies.
  • Act as Scrum Master for the team.
  • Review technical proposals and help align them with business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proven experience in a management role within a software development team, specifically C# and cloud-based web applications.
  • Recent and relevant professional experience as a developer.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to engage in detailed technical discussions.
  • Proven experience in fostering high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate difficult conversations constructively.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
