About the position

The Engineering Manager at Actalent will serve as the subject matter expert in both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines. This role is pivotal in managing a team of 10-15 engineers who are dedicated to the development of electromechanical products. The Engineering Manager will oversee the entire product realization process, which encompasses everything from the initial stages of product conceptualization to the sustainable manufacturing phase. This position requires a deep understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles, as well as the ability to integrate these disciplines effectively to drive product innovation and efficiency. In this role, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the engineering team adheres to best practices in product development and realization. This includes implementing design for manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize product designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. The Engineering Manager will also be tasked with project planning and budget management, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget constraints. Strong leadership and collaboration skills are essential, as the Engineering Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with broader organizational goals. The position is fully on-site in Lenexa, Kansas, and requires a commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork and communication within the engineering department. The Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in mentoring and developing the engineering team, promoting strategic planning initiatives, and enhancing team building efforts to achieve high performance and innovation in product development.
