About the position

The Engineering Manager at ABB is responsible for leading a team of designers and engineers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions. This role emphasizes the importance of functional safety, cybersecurity, and timely project delivery while fostering continual improvement in engineering processes. The position is based in Florence, SC, and contributes to the Electrification Service division in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of designers and engineers to deliver engineering solutions.
• Formulate plans and allocate resources to meet contractual and financial targets.
• Provide direction to the engineering team focusing on safety, cybersecurity, and quality.
• Ensure projects follow sound methodology and execution practices according to internal standards.
• Drive continual improvement of processes and procedures to enhance engineering capabilities.
• Utilize agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time and improve efficiency.
• Ensure team performance meets deliverables on time and according to specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 8+ years of engineering experience required.
• At least 3 years of experience in leading or managing a team of engineers.
• Experience in project management based on customer requirements and design goals.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite and engineering software applications (CAD/AUTOCAD, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.).
• Lean engineering and design for manufacturability mindset.
