About the position
The Engineering Manager at Actalent is responsible for overseeing the design, coordination, planning, and implementation of engineering and maintenance programs. This role involves managing a team of engineers and maintenance staff, ensuring efficient operation of plant equipment, and developing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff.
- Review and discuss plant processes and equipment issues with the Plant Manager and other operations managers.
- Develop and maintain a continuous improvement program for plant operations.
- Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to ensure continuous supply of necessary resources for operations.
- Plan and implement new methods to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Conduct training and performance evaluations for staff to enhance work performance.
- Collaborate with management and engineering personnel to resolve operational issues and improve equipment conditions.
- Identify areas for improvement and set departmental objectives for safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Intermediate level experience in engineering and maintenance management.
- Strong background in industrial machinery and maintenance engineering.
- Proficiency in project management and operations management.
- Experience with equipment design and creating machine documentation.
- Knowledge of baghouse regulations and maintenance.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulics.
- Familiarity with combustion and water treatment processes.
- Knowledge of cooling tower and pump house operations.
