About the position

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing all engineering activities within a manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and overseeing the design, cost estimation, installation, and maintenance of engineering projects. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including internal departments and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage all engineering activities related to design, cost estimation, installation, and maintenance.
• Supervise all exempt Plant Engineering employees and oversee skilled, semi-skilled, and clerical non-exempt personnel.
• Prepare and implement budgets for capital and maintenance activities in the plant.
• Coordinate environmental issues and ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
• Schedule preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize production downtime.
• Communicate with external contacts, including vendors and governmental agencies, regarding bids and compliance issues.
• Report all EH&S incidents and ensure adherence to waste management responsibilities.
• Conduct weekly SMAT audits and participate in incident investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering with professional knowledge of plant engineering disciplines.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in industrial management, with 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to provide innovation at all organizational levels.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other operating systems.
