About the position
The Engineering Manager at Luminescent Systems, Inc. is responsible for leading a team of engineers and support staff in the design, development, and sustainment of aerospace systems and components. This role requires a strong background in engineering, particularly in the aerospace industry, and involves overseeing engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and support staff.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the engineering team.
- Set goals and objectives for the team aligned with company objectives.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support career development of team members.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
- Review and approve designs, analyses, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate project status to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the aerospace industry with a strong understanding of aerospace systems and standards.
- Strong background in electromechanical product development and sustainment.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
