About the position

The Engineering Manager at Luminescent Systems, Inc. is responsible for leading a team of engineers and support staff in the design, development, and sustainment of aerospace systems and components. This role requires a strong background in engineering, particularly in the aerospace industry, and involves overseeing engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and support staff.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the engineering team.
  • Set goals and objectives for the team aligned with company objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support career development of team members.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
  • Review and approve designs, analyses, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate project status to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry with a strong understanding of aerospace systems and standards.
  • Strong background in electromechanical product development and sustainment.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
