About the position

The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing and sustaining manufacturing engineering functions across all corporate operations. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating engineering operations, managing the engineering budget, and providing technical leadership. The Engineering Manager will lead various engineering teams, including Project, Industrial, Packaging, and Controls Engineers, while ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments to achieve operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital projects related to all facilities and equipment.
  • Identify best-in-class equipment, processes, and facilities.
  • Drive financial analysis and business case justification for projects.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships and leverage vendor expertise.
  • Drive negotiations with suppliers and coordinate capital projects with vendors and internal partners.
  • Develop and sustain processes for capital planning and project development.
  • Monitor project spending and control costs to budget.
  • Provide leadership to direct reports, including project delegation and performance management.
  • Work with support departments and manufacturing personnel to resolve production and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Operations teams on design improvements and new manufacturing processes.
  • Review product/equipment design for compliance with engineering principles and regulations.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and distribution facilities.
  • Ensure documentation and process automation programs are available for standardization.
  • Lead safety, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education/experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing/mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong management skills with a history of success in leadership roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal functions, customers, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated execution skills and proactive leadership in developing strategic goals for Operations Engineering.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Micros.
