About the position

Corpay is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Lodging division, responsible for leading a team of software developers and overseeing the implementation of technology solutions that align with company objectives. This hands-on role involves managing multiple teams, driving the delivery of implementation projects, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance system and business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of existing systems, processes, and future requirements to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Interact with director or higher-level management and stakeholders, effectively communicating through oral and written presentations.
  • Work directly with business units to understand business requirements for application development and enhancements.
  • Lead implementation of projects from beginning to completion on time and within budget.
  • Develop metrics to measure efficiencies before and after implementation of new tools or processes.
  • Research software systems to understand existing functionalities and the impact of potential changes.
  • Collaborate with the team to validate that all necessary requirements have been fulfilled.
  • Participate and lead the day-to-day activities of implementation teams, including staff oversight and agile ceremonies.
  • Take ownership of projects, working closely with business stakeholders to understand and fine-tune business requirements.
  • Lead technical discussions and collaborate with other technologists and architects.
  • Lead engineering teams from the frontlines, helping to remove roadblocks and adhere to Agile practices.
  • Proactively identify system improvement opportunities and embrace innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in people and project management.
  • Design and development experience in multi-tiered client-server applications.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on coding experience.
  • Experience preparing and presenting design diagrams.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies is preferred.
  • Project and team management skills, with familiarity in Scrum and Kanban practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a wide range of users, from technical to non-technical.
  • Proven excellence in driving projects to implementation on time and within budget.
  • Developed skills in examination and analysis.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work both independently and collaboratively with high attention to detail.

  • Experience with cloud technologies preferred.
