About the position

The Engineering Manager at Kraft Heinz will focus on enhancing the performance of productive equipment, maintaining plant assets, and managing maintenance costs to meet plant performance objectives. This role involves ensuring compliance with various regulations, managing capital expenditures, and leading initiatives to improve operational efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the environment and the company's assets by adhering to environmental regulations and addressing potential violations promptly.
  • Ensure employee safety by focusing on ergonomic issues and enforcing safety regulations during capital projects.
  • Develop, monitor, and control the annual capital budget, maintenance expenses, and utility budgets.
  • Manage capital and facility maintenance projects, ensuring timely equipment installation and repair.
  • Develop initiatives to reduce utility and energy costs.
  • Support efficient plant operations through effective use of engineering and maintenance resources.
  • Oversee maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to minimize downtime.
  • Research and develop new processing techniques to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
  • Establish departmental goals focused on improving line efficiencies and product quality.
  • Evaluate production and packaging needs for capital equipment and determine equipment capabilities for new factory layouts.
  • Participate in the Food Safety and HACCP Team.
  • Assist business leaders in implementing process improvements, including leading change initiatives and planning.
  • Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and help develop procedures and corrective actions.
  • Accountable for the QRMP system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.
  • Manage and evaluate the Finance staff, including performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of increasing responsibility in plant engineering and project management in manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with full cycle capital project management from appropriation preparation to field start up.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with process and high speed/automation equipment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA safety regulations, and EPA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of boiler and compressed air operations to evaluate operating efficiencies.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management system operations.
  • Clear understanding of engineering economics and project justification.
  • Leadership skills gained through coursework, seminars, and supervisory experience.
