About the position

The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing and guiding the development and execution of engineering projects while ensuring the team's productivity and efficiency. The role focuses on coordinating resources, managing timelines, fostering collaboration, and promoting a culture of innovation, while ensuring cost, quality, and delivery of tooling or products are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input for day-to-day plant manufacturing operations.
  • Manage plant automation and process engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support for their professional growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback and performance management.
  • Implement controls engineering and training programs.
  • Coordinate and prioritize engineering projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality processes.
  • Interpret engineering requirements and manufacturing key characteristics.
  • Optimize technical solutions and manufacturing processes through continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to timing, launch costs, and financial plans.
  • Oversee the integration and validation of new design, manufacturing, and engineering concepts into the manufacturing floor processes.
  • Assess the feasibility of new technologies by identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Manage the plant maintenance department to achieve all KPIs, focusing on machine and equipment uptime.
  • Ensure an effective preventative maintenance plan is maintained and delivered.
  • Ensure the right spare parts are available on-site to minimize downtime.
  • Develop a strong maintenance team with a focus on quality and urgency in troubleshooting issues.
  • Work with other departments to ensure successful launch of new equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in engineering management or leadership roles, preferably in a fast-paced technology-driven environment.
  • Strong technical and automation background.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of engineers.
  • Excellent project management skills with a history of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and best practices.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
