About the position

As the Engineering & Reliability Manager at Post Consumer Brands, you will lead the Plant Engineering function and collaborate closely with Operations Leaders to implement continuous improvement activities aimed at achieving optimal performance metrics across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining plant equipment, facilities, and systems to support good business practices, ensuring production line availability for the manufacturing of low-cost, high-quality products in a safe work environment. You will also be responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality practices as required through SQF standards. In this position, you will manage an effective Plant Engineering and Maintenance Team, ensuring that all equipment, facilities, and systems are maintained in a safe and efficient working condition while complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety/security regulations. You will provide both business and technical leadership necessary to ensure that your team meets or exceeds goals in critical manufacturing success areas, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement will be essential, as you will work to build a productive environment that sustains improvements in support of business objectives. Your responsibilities will include utilizing a proactive maintenance program to ensure that the facility and equipment are satisfactorily maintained and ready for use. This involves assessing operational issues on a preventative and predictive basis, resolving equipment failures efficiently, and developing a service-oriented maintenance team that delivers high-quality, timely results. You will also be tasked with developing and implementing the facility capital budget, ensuring that projects meet financial requirements and Return on Investment (ROI), while monitoring ongoing project costs and adherence to budget and cash spending plans. Additionally, you will provide leadership that optimizes the talent contribution and development of multi-skilled teams, working closely with other departments to align strategies and tactics for optimizing production line availability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Plant Engineering function and collaborate with Operations Leaders to implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain plant equipment, facilities, and systems to support good business practices and ensure production line availability.
  • Support, implement, and maintain food safety and quality practices as required through SQF.
  • Manage an effective Plant Engineering and Maintenance Team to ensure compliance with GMP's and food safety/security.
  • Provide business and technical leadership to meet or exceed goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement to sustain improvements in support of business objectives.
  • Utilize a proactive maintenance program to ensure facility and equipment readiness.
  • Develop a service-oriented maintenance team to provide high-quality, timely results.
  • Develop and implement facility capital budget, ensuring projects meet financial requirements and ROI.
  • Monitor ongoing project costs and adherence to budget and cash spending plan.
  • Provide support and guidance to project engineers in managing projects.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local codes for electrical, plumbing, building, and mechanical work.

Requirements

  • B.S. (or higher) in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading Engineering/Maintenance/Production/Continuous Improvement within a similar industry.
  • Working knowledge of simplification/improvement methodologies.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Recognized technical abilities and practical experience in manufacturing systems and unit operations.
  • Strong capabilities in equipment reliability and asset care strategies, continuous improvement techniques, and statistics and analytical methods.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand and apply general engineering principles.
