About the position

The Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) role at Amazon Data Services involves maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems within data centers. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of AWS's global infrastructure, supporting various teams to deliver high standards of safety and security while managing operational costs. The EOT will work collaboratively with a diverse team to drive innovation and implement new technologies, contributing to the overall success of AWS's cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management.
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
• Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation.
• Oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Adhere to all safety procedures while performing work.
• Utilize ticketing systems, conduct root cause analysis, and create change management documentation.

Requirements

• Technical training or 2+ years of equivalent experience in a relevant industry (e.g., electrical or mechanical).
• 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree.
