About the position

The Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) role at Amazon involves supporting the operations of critical infrastructure systems within data centers. The position focuses on maintaining and operating these systems to ensure they are prepared for any situation, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of AWS's cloud computing services. EOTs work collaboratively with a diverse team to drive innovation, reduce operational costs, and uphold the highest standards of safety and security in the data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management.
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
• Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation.
• Oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Adhere to all safety procedures while performing work.
• Utilize ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, and writing procedures.
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% uptime.

Requirements

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience
• High school or equivalent diploma
