About the position

Volt is immediately hiring a Remote-Engineering Process Engineer with a client located in Bellevue, Washington. Our client is a world leader in new nuclear technologies for hybrid energy and medical applications. In this role, you will focus on nuclear plant design engineering process development, oversight, and maintenance. As an Engineering Process Engineer, you will assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training material related to design control, configuration management, and other engineering processes. You will identify, raise, and resolve inconsistencies and deficiencies in existing processes and procedures, including the initiation and resolution of condition reports. Additionally, you will support planning efforts and maintain schedule adherence for design activities, help develop and execute the strategy of design programs, including developing program plans and program review meetings, and support scheduled program work by overseeing daily operations, coordinating the activities of the program, and supporting priorities for managing the programs. This is a full-time contingent role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training material related to design control, configuration management, and other engineering processes.
  • Identify, raise, and resolve inconsistencies and deficiencies in existing processes and procedures, including initiation and resolution of condition reports.
  • Support planning efforts and maintain schedule adherence for design activities.
  • Help develop and execute the strategy of design programs, including developing program plans and program review meetings.
  • Support scheduled program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program, and support priorities for managing the programs.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years direct experience in an Engineering work environment.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry (operating fleet and new design/build).
  • Process Improvement experience (Lean, Kaizen, etc.).
  • Competence in multiple areas (construction, project management, plant operations, regulatory compliance, systems engineering, etc.).
  • Experience in a broad range of topics throughout a product lifecycle, including conceptual design, final design, construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Experience in coordinating and maintaining technical processes and procedures within a nuclear QAP is required.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining technical project procedures and training.
