About the position

Volt is seeking a Remote Engineering Process Engineer to join a leading client in the field of new nuclear technologies, specifically for hybrid energy and medical applications. This position is crucial for the development, oversight, and maintenance of engineering processes related to nuclear plant design. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all engineering processes are efficient, effective, and compliant with industry standards. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance, and implementation of various procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training materials that pertain to design control and configuration management. You will also be tasked with identifying, raising, and resolving inconsistencies and deficiencies in existing processes and procedures. This includes the initiation and resolution of condition reports, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of engineering operations. Additionally, you will support planning efforts and maintain schedule adherence for design activities. This involves helping to develop and execute strategies for design programs, which includes creating program plans and facilitating program review meetings. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program, and support priorities for managing these programs effectively. This is a full-time contingent role that offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to innovative projects in the nuclear technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training material related to design control and configuration management.
  • Identify, raise, and resolve inconsistencies and deficiencies in existing processes and procedures, including initiation and resolution of condition reports.
  • Support planning efforts and maintain schedule adherence for design activities.
  • Help develop and execute strategies for design programs, including developing program plans and conducting program review meetings.
  • Support scheduled program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program, and manage priorities for the programs.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in engineering process development and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of design control and configuration management processes.
  • Ability to identify and resolve process inconsistencies and deficiencies.
