About the position

Volt is immediately hiring a Remote-Engineering Process Engineer with a client located in Bellevue, Washington. Our client is a world leader in new nuclear technologies for hybrid energy and medical applications. The successful candidate will integrate and coordinate engineering processes and procedures with a broad team in multiple functional areas and work as part of a high-performing team of engineers and scientists. As an Engineering Process Engineer, you will help to establish processes and standards for the conduct of engineering activities. You will assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training material related to design control, configuration management, and other engineering processes. Your role will involve identifying, raising, and resolving inconsistencies and deficiencies in existing processes and procedures, including the initiation and resolution of condition reports. Coordination with central support organizations for interface with corporate supporting functions and processes will also be part of your responsibilities. This may include applying project and program management and coordination tools and techniques to daily work and regular meetings and engagements. You will support scheduled program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program, and support priorities for managing the programs. This is a full-time contingent role.

Responsibilities

  • Help to establish processes and standards for conduct of engineering activities.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training material related to design control, configuration management, and other engineering processes.
  • Identify, raise, and resolve inconsistencies and deficiencies in existing processes and procedures, including initiation and resolution of condition reports.
  • Coordinate with central support organizations for interface with corporate supporting functions and processes.
  • Apply project and program management and coordination tools and techniques to daily work and regular meetings and engagements.
  • Support scheduled program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program, and support priorities for managing the programs.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university and 10+ years direct experience in an Engineering work environment.
  • Knowledge of quality program design and configuration management principles, practices, and tools.
  • Experience in a broad range of topics throughout a product lifecycle, including conceptual design, final design, construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Experience in coordinating and maintaining technical processes and procedures within a nuclear QAP is required.
  • Experience with ANSI/NIRMA CM 1.0 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B control programs required.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining technical project procedures and training.
  • Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and possess ability to perform both individually and as a team contributor.
