About the position

The Engineering Program Manager for Financial Crimes Compliance at Apple plays a crucial role in delivering process and analytic solutions that significantly impact the organization. This position involves driving decision automation through machine learning, enabling Apple to operate with enhanced speed, control, efficiency, and scale. The role requires collaboration across multiple functional teams to conceptualize, build, and deliver automated decisions, necessitating continuous problem-solving, effective communication, and an innovative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with quantitative business analysts, machine learning engineers, and software engineers.
  • Develop partnerships with key business leaders across various teams including finance, corporate compliance, corporate legal, operations, engineering, and corporate security.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into business requirements and develop engineering requirements that satisfy these needs.
  • Lead internal sprint and cross-functional partner meetings.
  • Develop project plans and collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to build and launch new decision points, integrations, infrastructure, and analytics.
  • Support sustaining operations, enhancements, and documentation.
  • Identify new business opportunities and support architecture development while balancing impact, cost, resourcing, timeline, likelihood of success, and analytic risk.
  • Effectively communicate project status, roadblocks, executive updates, and analytic results to various levels of the organization.
  • Work independently, grasp new concepts quickly, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
  • Lead successfully in uncertain and changing environments with competing priorities and minimal resourcing.

Requirements

  • BS / MS in a technical or finance field (engineering, math, computer science, or similar).
  • Experience in payments, fraud, finance, or financial crimes regulatory compliance technical systems is desired.
  • 3+ years work experience as a program or project manager.
  • 3+ years work experience leading successful, high-impact technical projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals at all levels and develop partnerships.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp the technical details of complex engineering and analytic issues and provide in-depth evaluations.
