About the position

The Engineering Program Manager for Media Engineering at Apple Services Engineering is a pivotal role responsible for driving and delivering large, multi-functional programs and features within the organization. This position requires a hands-on approach to requirements analysis, functional and technical design discussions, and collaboration with various partners to ensure successful outcomes. The role emphasizes strong communication, integrity, and the ability to thrive in uncertainty while fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and ship large, multi-functional programs and feature areas.
  • Lead all aspects of multiple concurrent features including scope, requirements, timelines, and prioritization.
  • Manage day-to-day program execution, including risk assessments to meet overall program goals.
  • Foster collaboration across a broad team of cross-functional partners to formulate roadmap and manage intake pipeline.
  • Play an active role in improving how features are built and executed in the Apple Services Engineering organization.
  • Help set the strategy and communicate status and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Data Science, QA, Legal, Finance, Privacy, Anti-Fraud, Business Operations, and other organizations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program or technical project management experience, including experience taking features through the complete software development life cycle.
  • Experience building global products by collaborating across Product, Engineering, Data Sciences, Analytics, Design, and other key partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong technical proficiency, particularly in Search and Recommendations.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and logical structuring abilities.
  • Ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous input into solid action plans.
  • Consistent track record of shipping complex customer-facing and backend engineering projects under demanding timelines.
  • Strong facilitation skills for requirements sessions, design meetings, and progress/status meetings.
  • Best-in-class communication and presentation skills (written & verbal) to all levels of an organization.
  • BS/BA Degree and/or MBA preferred.
