About the position

The Engineering Program Manager for Neuromodulation at Medtronic is responsible for leading cross-functional teams in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring successful execution of operations projects related to the development and manufacturing of medical devices. This role involves defining project metrics, managing operations strategies, and serving as the primary operations interface to the NPI Core team, with a focus on delivering products on time and within budget while adhering to compliance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage operations project metrics and motivate teams to achieve product costs, line yields, and process capabilities.
  • Generate design transfer deliverables including plans and reports.
  • Work with stakeholders to set manufacturing strategies, including site selection and distribution strategies.
  • Establish operations development plans, including budget, schedule, and interdependencies with other functions.
  • Lead the extended operations team to ensure on-time and on-budget performance through the new product development cycle.
  • Serve as the 'Voice of Operations' within the product development team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Coach and develop extended operations members, providing performance feedback and recognizing exceptional performance.
  • Ensure alignment of scope, cost, resources, and schedule between operations and core team functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing and/or product development, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in program management and a strong understanding of FDA, ICH, and IEC standards.
  • Proven operations experience with depth of knowledge in at least one operations function.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in an engineering discipline or MBA.
  • Medical device product development and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies and manufacturing process validation.
  • PMP certification and Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
