About the position

The Engineering Program Manager at Precision Castparts Corp. is responsible for overseeing and directing engineering projects that have significant impacts on major programs or products within the company. This role involves planning, organizing, executing, and tracking the progress of assignments while maintaining communication with various stakeholders. The position requires a strong technical background and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring project objectives are met within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs engineering projects or programs inside and outside the company.
• Works closely with customers, sales, planning, and manufacturing to provide coordination on new product introduction and support existing products.
• Plans, supervises, coordinates, and monitors the work of a staff of engineers and technicians; estimates manpower needs; and schedules and assigns work to meet completion dates.
• Provides performance appraisals, salary administration, and project budgets, being responsible for group budgets.
• Supervision, coordination, and direction relate largely to overall project objectives, meeting schedules, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
• Provides timely profit projections and follow-up on their product line, having full accountability.

Requirements

• BS in a related field, or BS in an unrelated field with proven project management experience and sustained positive performance.
• Proven engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Leadership experience within operations or engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Progressive experience including project responsibility requiring the direction of several engineers.
• Demonstrated capability to work with customers and other internal organizations in a concurrent team approach environment while holding responsibility for project outcomes.
• Significant contributions to new inventions, designs, or techniques.
