About the position

The Engineering Program Manager at PayPal will play a critical role in the Technology Program Management Office (TPMO) team, focusing on delivering key strategic initiatives and programs. This position involves managing the SAP S4 Hana transformation initiative, streamlining finance processes, and ensuring effective program execution through cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SAP programs from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope and budget.
  • Work closely with various departments, including IT, finance, supply chain, and external consultants, to ensure effective SAP program execution.
  • Regularly communicate with business stakeholders, keeping them informed of program progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and direction to project teams, including internal staff and external SAP consultants.
  • Identify potential program risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Support organizational change initiatives related to SAP implementations to ensure smooth adoption by end users.
  • Assist in resource planning and allocation to ensure the right talent and skills are applied to each project.
  • Track program performance, providing regular updates to senior management on project milestones, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage program budgets in excess of $10 million, including forecasting, resource allocation, and financial performance tracking.
  • Oversee relationships with SAP partners and third-party vendors, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience leading projects and programs from end to end.
  • Experience with S4 Hana is required.
  • Solid understanding of SAP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, FICO, MM, SD) to support implementation, configuration, and ongoing optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies as they relate to SAP.
  • Previous experience in managing SAP programs.
  • Expertise in leveraging analytics and data insights for decision-making.
  • Experience with large-scale business integrations.
  • Leadership competencies such as strategic thinking, influence/negotiation, decision making and change leadership.
  • A Bachelor's/Master's degree in a relatable field is preferred but not required.
