About the position

Mobis is a top tier-1 global automotive supplier developing and manufacturing mobility products to promote a sustainable future. Mobis develops and supplies state-of-the-art smart EV solutions including electric drive units, power conversion systems, and battery system assemblies. As an engineering project lead you will lead the team of talented engineers from different functions (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Software etc.) to execute the project. You will be the key contact for the customer, responsible for all engineering activities till the prototype builds/validation, and smoothly transition the project to industrialization phase. You will work on cutting edge technology in the field of battery packs. A successful EPL will have excellent time management and prioritization skills as well focus on future mile-stone and dependencies. Position may require up to 10% of local and international travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of project schedule and ensuring team is aware of future milestones and deliveries.
  • Identify, communicate and manage impediments to the successful completion of program milestones.
  • Identify risk and timely escalation of issues internally and externally (Customer and Supplier).
  • Lead a cross-functional team and oversee all core team activities, establishing priorities.
  • Engage in all stages of product development process from requirement, design, implementation, and testing following Mobis internal development process.
  • Communicate with customers regarding product design and milestone definition and review.
  • Mediate technical discussions with OE customers with support from the engineering team.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with global teams, suppliers, and customers to define project deliverables.
  • Proficiency in structured problem-solving using 5 Phase, 8D and Fishbone methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of automotive product development experience.
  • 5+ years of project management in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with HV battery systems (HEV/PHEV/BEV).
  • High level of English verbal, written and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards including ISO, IEC, ASPICE and others.
  • Familiarity with product development in compliance with cybersecurity and functional safety processes and methods.
  • Korean language skills a plus.
