About the position

Kimley-Horn's Plymouth Meeting, PA office is seeking a Project Manager with over 10 years of experience to join their dynamic team. This position is not remote, and the selected candidate will be responsible for managing various project tasks, including project design and permitting, construction coordination, and providing regular communication and guidance to less experienced staff. The Project Manager will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external clients to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects, maintaining a high degree of quality in the plans produced and checking the work of others. In this role, the Project Manager will create work plans that adhere to the budget set by the client, demonstrating strong project management knowledge. They will attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements related to the projects. Monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules will be a key responsibility, ensuring that all aspects of the project are on track and within the defined parameters. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects, fostering meaningful internal and external professional relationships. The Project Manager will work closely and collaboratively with other industry-leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors, contributing to the overall success of the projects undertaken by Kimley-Horn.

Responsibilities

  • Managing project tasks, project design and permitting, and construction coordination.
  • Providing regular communication and guidance with less experienced staff.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and external clients to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Maintaining a high degree of quality in sets of plans and checking the work of others.
  • Creating work plans and adhering to the budget set by the client while performing strong project management.
  • Attending meetings and communicating with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill regulations and requirements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • Relevant civil and/or power engineering experience on data centers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and a sense of urgency to produce high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team.
