About the position

The Engineering Project Manager at Cabot Corporation is responsible for overseeing the development and installation of capital projects at the Ville Platte, Louisiana Carbon Black plant. This role involves executing projects within defined scope, cost, and schedule while ensuring compliance with safety standards and delivering agreed outcomes. Projects range from $50k to $5M, and the manager will ensure that all phases of project execution are completed effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and install capital aspects of assigned projects.
• Execute capital projects to meet scope, cost, and schedule.
• Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets and negotiated schedules.
• Manage engineering contractors to obtain complete and accurate design and specification packages.
• Oversee construction contractors to ensure safe, quality, on-time, and on-budget project execution.
• File project status reports to measure progress to completion.
• Follow chemical industry Process Hazard Analysis requirements and other safety processes.
• Maintain project files and documentation according to compliance standards.
• Communicate lessons learned and best practices.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience managing projects in a chemical or related industry or at an engineering management company.
• Site supervision experience in a construction environment is preferred.
• High level of proficiency with project controls (cost & schedule) programs.
• Strong software skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting methods and systems.
