About the position

The Engineering Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams to define, plan, execute, and deliver project commitments that support the company's market growth and financial objectives. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with various value streams across the organization while enhancing project management and leadership skills. The position reports to the Director of Program Management Office (PMO) and focuses on continuous growth and improvement in project management competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Management in developing sound business cases.
  • Understand and internalize business benefits in cost reduction and market-share increase.
  • Lead teams in developing clear project and product requirements.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and facilitate target setting.
  • Secure functional managers to develop schedules and secure resources.
  • Estimate financial needs and develop budgets.
  • Lead effective team meetings and monitor project performance.
  • Manage and creatively work the project critical path with a focus on pace.
  • Identify and mitigate project schedule, technical, and cost risks.
  • Prepare for and deliver milestone reviews to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering (preferred) with at least 5 years' experience required.
  • Relevant industry experience strongly preferred.
  • BA/BS degree with 5 to 10+ years' experience.
  • MA/MS degree with 3 to 5+ years' experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in schedule management, risk management, budget management, and cross-functional teams within a formal phase-gate process.
  • Negotiation and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with team leadership experience.
  • Experience working with suppliers/3rd parties.
  • Sound engineering understanding/background.
  • Elevator systems knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including MS Project.
