About the position

The Engineering Project/Program Manager - Stewardship position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on compliance, regulations, and sustainability in a print organization. This position requires a developed subject matter knowledge to address both common and complex business issues while adhering to established guidelines. The successful candidate will work on problems of diverse complexity and scope, often acting as a team or project leader. This role involves providing direction to team activities and facilitating the information validation and decision-making processes within the team. The individual will exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select appropriate solutions, demonstrating the ability to handle unique situations effectively. In instances of complex business issues, the candidate may seek advice to make informed decisions. As a steward of ink supplies, the Engineering Project/Program Manager will manage and lead programs that involve multiple functions and project teams. The primary responsibility will be to drive the engineering development and implementation process for subsystems or components of products or service offerings. This includes developing schedules, critical deliverables, budgets, resource allocation plans, and other support requirements for assigned programs. The role requires coordination of activities among supporting project teams and internal and external development partners, tracking progress against established plans, and making necessary decisions to adjust schedules and resource allocations to meet product requirements and development timelines. Effective communication is essential in this role, as the candidate will be responsible for updating product stakeholders on program progress, escalations, and issue analyses. Collaboration with management and internal manufacturing and development partners is crucial to implement changes to products, processes, or program plans to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules. Additionally, the Engineering Project/Program Manager will lead and provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a steward for ink supplies, ensuring compliance with regulations and sustainability practices.
  • Manage and lead programs involving multiple functions and project teams to drive engineering development and implementation processes.
  • Develop schedules, critical deliverables, budgets, and resource allocation plans for assigned programs.
  • Coordinate activities of supporting project teams and internal/external development partners, tracking progress against established plans.
  • Communicate program progress, escalations, and issue analyses to product stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with management and internal partners to implement changes to products, processes, or program plans to resolve issues.
  • Lead and mentor less-experienced staff members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Environmental Science, or equivalent technical/science-based degree/experience.
  • Typically 4-10 years of experience in project/program management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and directing matrixed teams and resources.
  • Ability to create and manage program schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at management levels.
  • Interest in regulations, compliance, and sustainability.
