About the position

The Engineering Release Coordinator at Dorleco plays a crucial role in supporting design engineers by managing engineering change requests and ensuring accurate communication of changes within the organization. This position is essential for the company's growth, requiring strong organizational skills, technical knowledge of automotive systems, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Management and coordination of ECR/ECN project flows and daily management of requests.
  • Receive part numbers from design engineers and structure eBOM assemblies.
  • Create ECO/ECN drafts for release.
  • Monitor and update engineering requests, authorizations, and changes.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to facilitate the structuring of BOM and input requirements into PLM systems.
  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings with the engineering team to ensure metrics are met.
  • Manage ECR and ECN/ECO workflows and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Track and communicate ECR/ECO backlog and progress regularly.
  • Monitor and populate APQP documents related to ECNs, ECOs, and ECRs.
  • Evaluate ECO/ECN submissions for compliance with customer requirements.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for engineering related to ECN/ECR/ECO and BOM issues.
  • Analyze and improve ECO/ECR/ECN process flows and implement improvements.
  • Coordinate with engineering team members, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain product change information and build logic for change management.
  • Maintain master BOM database and review submitted ECN/ECOs for standardization.
  • Ensure standard work is followed and suggest process improvements.
  • Assist in training and developing team members as directed by leadership.
  • Support 5S activities and monitor safety, quality, cost, and delivery issues.
  • Communicate BOM changes and solutions to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably Windchill.
  • Strong automotive/heavy truck technical skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-organizational collaboration and presentations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with automotive/truck chassis and engineering processes.
  • Technical knowledge of vehicles, options, and specifications.
