About the position

The Engineering Release Manager for Systems and Software at Lockheed Martin is a senior-level position responsible for leading a team of engineers in the execution of Systems and Software Integration and Test engineering activities for the Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS) programs. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, interfacing with program leadership and customers, and overseeing the tracking and execution of integration and test activities. The position requires a strong background in systems engineering and software development, along with leadership skills to drive project success and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 15-20 engineers across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Oversee Release Manager activities as the Key Individual named on the contract.
  • Track and execute Systems and Software Integration and Test engineering activities for TBMCS programs.
  • Interface with team members, program leadership, and customer leadership regarding operations and scheduling.
  • Handle Control Account Management (CAM) responsibilities for Software Integration and Test tasks, including program schedule creation and validation.
  • Report on Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and track monthly program cost/schedule.
  • Manage customer objectives and support proposals/cost estimation activities.
  • Communicate Software Integration and Test activities, status, issues, and action plans to the team and collaborate with the Engineering Program Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Previous experience on a software development, system integration/test, or sustainment program.
  • Demonstrated success in a technical leadership role.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, integration, and test (SEIT) fundamentals.
  • Experience leading/managing a team.
  • Experience developing/executing program schedules.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with the TBMCS program.
  • Excellent facilitation skills and ability to lead issue resolution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and project scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Agile development, pipeline, DevSecOps, and Test Automation.
  • Experience with Configuration Management Systems such as GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Demonstrated experience in Software/Systems Integration and/or Test Engineering.
