About the position

The Engineering Sales Manager will oversee the sales process for engineering products, focusing on preparing quotations, negotiating with customers, and ensuring profitable outcomes while adhering to high-quality standards. This role requires a strong background in engineering and sales management, with an emphasis on communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit sales quotations, including thermal design, costing, and specification review and clarifications.
  • Research and communicate customer needs to develop competitive and applicable offerings.
  • Negotiate with customers to secure orders, ensuring profitability and feasibility within the quoted constraints.
  • Assign quotations and provide pricing multipliers to the Sales Department.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Terms and Conditions and handling large project negotiations.
  • Document all sales activities and proposals using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Comply with the Tender Review and Approval Process requirements.
  • Attend design verification meetings, when needed, to transition order management to the Projects team.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, government regulations, and shop capabilities to ensure relevant and competitive offerings.
  • Source and negotiate pricing and delivery from sub-suppliers during the quotation stage.
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning to align with company goals.
  • Maintain professional and cooperative communication with staff, customers, and all stakeholders at every level.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of company products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work on-site and demonstrate punctual, regular attendance.
  • Cooperative team player with a commitment to professionalism and respect for colleagues and customers.
