We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Configuration Control Manager to lead our Configuration Management, Design Checking, Technical Publications, and Configuration Control teams within the aviation and defense sectors. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our products, both in the design phase and in the field. The Configuration Control Manager will be responsible for generating and implementing robust processes for the business area and specific programs within the business area. This includes developing and maintaining configuration management policies, overseeing the review and verification of engineering designs, and ensuring the creation and upkeep of precise technical publications. The manager will also manage the configuration control process, ensuring all changes to product designs and configurations are documented, approved, and implemented systematically.   • Lead and oversee the Configuration Management, Design Checking, Technical Publications, and Configuration Control teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust configuration management processes and policies.
  • Manage the review and verification of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of detailed and compliant technical publications.
  • Manage the configuration control process, ensuring all changes to product designs and configurations are documented, approved, and communicated.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance.
  • Lead and mentor the team in configuration management best practices.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Aerospace, Defense Systems, or a related field).
  • Typically, 8+ years of progressive engineering services experience, including 4+ years of management experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in configuration management or a related role within the aviation and defense industry.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management standards and practices (e.g., ISO 10007, MIL-STD-973, MIL-HDBK-61, EIA-649).
  • Proficiency in using configuration management tools and software.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Previous management experience; exposure to recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work.
  • Experience with identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available.
  • Understanding of how to prepare project schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, CMPIC).
  • Experience with technical writing and documentation in the aviation and defense sectors.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards specific to aviation and defense industries.
