About the position

As an Engineering Specialist, Digital Product Owner at Vantive, you will play a pivotal role in leading the end-to-end user experience roadmap for digital medical products within Baxter's Acute Kidney Care Segment. This position is crucial as Vantive embarks on a journey to establish itself as a standalone company, building on Baxter's nearly 70-year legacy in acute therapies and dialysis. You will be responsible for eliciting clear and actionable product requirements and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) based on high-level user needs, while effectively communicating minimal needs, costs, and timelines to stakeholders. Your role will involve establishing and maintaining a comprehensive digital product roadmap that demonstrates incremental and quantifiable customer impact. You will identify, lead, and maintain relationships with external product development vendors, establishing clear success criteria and leading buy vs. build proposals based on product needs. Additionally, you will drive communication with commercial partners, external key opinion leaders, and internal teams to identify the optimal product path, resolving any opposing constraints between functions required to deliver products to market. In this position, you will provide team leadership among technical leaders and product owners, driving robust solutions that meet business needs. Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end user experience roadmap for digital medical products across Baxter's Acute Kidney Care Segment.
  • Elicit clear, actionable product requirements and MVPs based on high-level user needs while communicating minimal needs, costs, and timelines.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive digital product roadmap demonstrating incremental and quantifiable customer impact.
  • Identify, lead, and maintain external product development vendors by establishing clear success criteria and leading buy vs. build proposals based on product needs.
  • Drive communication with commercial partners, external key opinion leaders, and internal partners to identify the optimal product path.
  • Resolve opposing constraints between functions required to deliver products to market.
  • Provide team leadership among technical leaders and product owners to drive robust solutions to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • 14+ years of related experience in the medical software industry working with both regulated and non-regulated products on a global scale such as IEC 62304 and TIR 57.
  • Demonstrated experience working with external and internal team members to resolve product requirements and convert them into actionable minimum viable solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrates an innovative spirit and inspires others to take calculated risks towards bettering the customer's experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated technical expertise and domain experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Understanding of regulated healthcare industry, including FDA design controls requirements.
  • Previous experience in a regulated medical device company.
