About the position

The ePowertrain Simulation Engineering Specialist at Caterpillar Inc. plays a crucial role in simulating ePowertrain system performance, collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate modeling and analysis. This position focuses on executing simulation requests, developing new capabilities, and documenting core processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ePowertrain simulations. The specialist will also mentor others and communicate findings to support the development of innovative ePowertrain solutions.

Responsibilities

• Execute simulation requests for ePowertrain systems.
• Help develop and document core simulation processes.
• Develop new simulation capabilities to predict ePowertrain system performance and durability.
• Communicate with ePowertrain system, sub-system, and component teams to ensure necessary simulation models are developed.
• Provide estimates of cost and duration for completing simulation tasks.
• Report progress on simulation requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related field).
• Experience developing and applying 1D physics-based simulation for batteries, electric motors, power electronics, and/or mechanical drivetrain applications.
• Knowledge of simulation process improvement tools and techniques.
• Understanding of effective communication concepts and techniques.
• Expertise in problem-solving approaches and techniques.
• Extensive experience in project management strategies and tactics.
