About the position

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for managing capital improvement projects for the District, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, and overseeing the efficient operations of the District. This role involves collaboration with various departments, project development, and supervision of engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital improvement projects from concept through design and construction.
• Collaborate with various District departments on design considerations.
• Communicate design comments to the consulting engineer and review designs for compliance.
• Assemble information required for permits and special funding sources.
• Develop project specifications and publicly bid projects.
• Execute contract documents and administer preconstruction meetings.
• Manage construction administration and inspection of projects.
• Assist in project development, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Maintain hydraulic models and perform hydraulic analysis for certification of new projects.
• Update reports dealing with distribution system data and project scheduling.
• Supervise and review the work of staff engineers and engineering technicians.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and interact with regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3 or more years of experience in a public utility or similar experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• State licensure as a Professional Engineer.

• Experience working with Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software.
