Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) group is thrilled to offer a Systems Engineer II role within our Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team in Marlborough, MA. As part of the ATS team, you'll be instrumental in developing the next generation of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) and supporting our existing fielded systems. You will work on the cutting-edge STARS air traffic control system, the backbone of air traffic management in the United States. You will join a dynamic systems engineering team dedicated to modernizing the STARS system under an exciting new contract. You will drive innovation by developing creative solutions to customer challenges and crafting system and product-level requirements. You will play a key role in verifying these requirements by developing rigorous sell-off criteria, ensuring the highest standards of performance and safety. You will have a direct impact on modernizing air traffic control across the country. You will gain exposure to multiple air traffic systems and have a helping hand in developing solutions to modernize and integrate them to meet the demands of the future. Responsibilities

  • Develop the next generation of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS).
  • Support existing fielded systems and modernize the STARS system under a new contract.
  • Drive innovation by developing creative solutions to customer challenges.
  • Craft system and product-level requirements and verify them through rigorous sell-off criteria.
  • Gain exposure to multiple air traffic systems and help develop solutions for modernization and integration.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in systems engineering.
  • Expertise in requirements decomposition, flow-down, and verification.
  • Experience generating and delivering technical documentation to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with IBM DOORS, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience with programming skills in C++ and/or Java/J2EE, scripting languages like Python, or modeling tools such as MATLAB.
  • Prior experience supporting a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) government contract.
  • Prior experience with Agile Development Processes.
  • Prior experience with Red Hat Linux 9.x.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional programming languages or tools related to systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with air traffic control systems and their operational requirements.
