About the position

The Engineering Tech II position at DHR Health involves performing a variety of maintenance and equipment management duties within the hospital complex. The role requires effective communication, adherence to safety and health guidelines, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position is full-time and requires flexibility in working hours, as shifts may vary.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the facility mission, vision, and values by effectively communicating them to others.
  • Works shifts as needed/assigned - variable.
  • Performs painting, spackling, and maintenance of interior and exterior walls, ceilings, floors, and structures.
  • Cleans and maintains the paint area and painting accessories.
  • Maintains and documents a complete and precise record system of all patient rooms and building painting PMs or repairs.
  • Performs carpentry, drywall, and steel framing repairs or projects.
  • Organizes and maintains spare parts and supply inventory.
  • Makes minor repairs to equipment and fixtures and cleans equipment.
  • Participates in Emergency Preparedness Plans.
  • Assists in any project, wall mountings, repairs, or assemblies as required.
  • Follows and documents all J.C.A.H.O., T.D.H., and O.S.H.A. guidelines and requirements in this area.
  • Stays aware of surroundings and monitors all aspects of the hospital while performing assignments or making rounds.
  • Adheres to DHR policies and procedures regarding privacy and security of health information.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all DHR customers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools.
  • Minimum computer skills required.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and bilingual issues.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Five (5) years' experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves
