The Engineering Tech position at Chipton-Ross is a hybrid contract role focused on providing document management support for Substation Engineering. The role involves assisting Engineering Analysts with revising existing drawings and updating Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages. The position requires proficiency in Autodesk CAD software and offers opportunities for training and field visits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide document management support for Substation Engineering.
  • Revise existing drawings from as-built field corrections.
  • Update Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages after training.
  • Create and publish new Issued for Construction drawing packages.
  • Gather technical information and up-to-date drawings for projects.
  • Create new 3D material coded parts for electrical substation models.
  • Use the Autodesk Vault 3D parts library to create 3D substation models.
  • Generate drawings based on one-line and substation standards drawings.

Requirements

  • Education in the use of Autodesk CAD products is essential.
  • Several years' experience in CAD is preferred, but recent graduates in a technology-related field will be considered.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk CAD software and the MS Office suite is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Customer service and team building skills are a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.
