About the position
The Engineering Technician 4 position involves performing a variety of technical engineering tasks in support of professional engineers. This role includes responsibilities such as drafting, engineering calculations, surveying, materials and soils testing, construction inspection, and roadway design. The technician will work independently at an advanced journey level, applying engineering theories and practices to ensure compliance with standards and specifications in various engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical engineering work in support of professional engineers.
- Conduct construction inspections and ensure compliance with methods and standards.
- Carry out materials and soils testing and document results.
- Assist in construction surveying and field office work.
- Prepare engineering-related documents and reports.
- Measure and calculate contractor's quantities of work.
- Ensure that all sampling and testing is performed per established test methods.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in engineering, physics, math, or a closely related field.
- Two years of experience in a specialized engineering function or program area.
- High school diploma or equivalent with three years of progressively responsible experience in engineering.
- One year of experience as an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service.
