About the position

MSA has an opportunity for an Entry Level Civil Engineering Technician at our Marshfield or Rice Lake, WI office on the Mobility Service Line. This position will work primarily in the field including construction management/survey/staking on a variety of mobility engineering projects. If you enjoy being out in the field but are looking for a challenge and opportunity to be mentored, this is the position for you!

Responsibilities

  • Construction site project management/inspection
  • Project plan & specifications interpretation
  • Complete required WisDOT reports utilizing the following software: AASHTOWare Project (AWP), Materials Information Tracking (MIT), Lane Closure System (LCS)
  • Submit reports and documentation consistent with current WisDOT standards
  • Communicate with clients and engineering staff on the progress of the project
  • Provide record drawings of the projects
  • Assist with design plans utilizing Civil 3D software

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Civil Engineering technology, Bachelor's degree Civil Engineering or related degree required by May 2023
  • 2.75 GPA minimum required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • WisDOT field experience or HTCP certifications would be a plus
  • Attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple tasks desired
  • Willingness and ability to travel for projects including overnight
  • Desire to work in the field to help projects get built
  • Strong communication skills
