The Engineering Technician (Electrical) at AVMAC LLC is responsible for providing technical oversight, quality assurance surveillance, and administrative reporting in accordance with NAVSEA 9090-310 and Navy Standard Items as outlined in the Government's Statement of Work. This role involves a variety of tasks including oversight of contracted labor and hands-on assistance for Flight Deck Aviation Certifications (AVCERT) related work. The technician will engage in troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and replacement of electrical components, ensuring that all work meets the required standards and specifications. Key responsibilities include securing electrical connections, identifying, tagging, disconnecting, and removing Aircraft Power Cables, and recording electrical hook-up data. The technician will conduct visual inspections of cables, perform necessary repairs or replacements, and reinstall cables using retained hook-up data. Additionally, the role requires troubleshooting and repairing power panels or controllers, conducting cableway inspections, and ensuring the integrity of cable penetrations to maintain watertight conditions. The technician will also provide oversight and hands-on experience for various electrical service stations and systems, including 400HZ and 28VDC Aircraft and Helicopter Electrical Service Stations (AESS/HESS). This includes managing electrical and mechanical upgrades for Large Amphib-class ships and Hangar Bay lighting installations compatible with Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS). The technician must maintain tool accountability, adhere to safety procedures, and coordinate with ship's force personnel to ensure efficient maintenance operations. The role may involve some travel to support maintenance operations as directed by the Program/Project Manager.
