About the position

The Engineering Technician role at Captive Aire Systems, Inc. is a hands-on position primarily located on the manufacturing floor, specifically focused on the Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) production line. The technician will be responsible for operating technical equipment, assisting in the organization and acceleration of production lines, and ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with safety standards and procedures. In this position, the technician will engage in various tasks including electrical and electronic troubleshooting, inspecting products, and performing refrigerant charging and recovery. The technician will also be responsible for accurately completing quality and administrative documents, ensuring that the workspace remains clean, safe, and organized. This role requires physical stamina, as the technician will be expected to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Additionally, the use of ladders, forklifts, and other equipment to acquire parts for product assembly is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the manufacturing floor building products for the DOAS production line.
  • Help run technical equipment and organize production lines.
  • Accurately complete quality and administrative documents.
  • Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting.
  • Inspect products for quality assurance.
  • Charge and recover refrigerants as needed.
  • Read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Utilize brazing skills; welding and soldering skills are a plus.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace according to safety standards.

Requirements

  • 2-year or 4-year technical degree in a mechanical or electrical oriented curriculum.
  • Entry level to 2 years of work experience.
  • Internship or other hands-on manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to use power tools and electrical testing and measuring equipment.
  • Universal EPA Certification preferred.
  • HVAC related experience beneficial.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read factory orders.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to work standing for 8 - 10 hours at a time.
  • Required to use ladder, forklift or other means to acquire parts for product assembly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing environments.
