About the position

The Engineering Technician I position involves providing technical support services to the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. The role encompasses a variety of tasks including the assembly, repair, and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet serviceability and reliability standards. The technician will also perform equipment performance analyses, install systems, and adhere to FAA standards and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the functional/operational supervision of the Shop Lead and/or Technical Manager/Project Manager.
  • Assembles and repairs electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Completes applicable adjustment, testing, and certification processes on all items assembled or repaired.
  • Performs and documents all tasks and functions as specified in the technical documentation applicable to the system/subsystem/component.
  • Performs equipment and component performance analyses to determine operating characteristics and parameters, aiding in fault isolation and identification.
  • Installs electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, modifications, and engineering prototypes; performs adjustment, test, and certification functions for this equipment.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on electronic and mechanical systems and components for NAS and Inter-Agency systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma/GED with completion of formal technical training courses.
  • Dedication to quality work and a strong work ethic.
  • NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust.

Nice-to-haves

  • Rope repelling / on rope work at heights.
  • Experience with operation of boom man lifts.
  • Experience with operation of motorized forklift.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Completion of trip reports.
