About the position

The Engineering Technician I position at Terracon involves performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. The role requires effective communication with project managers, clients, and contractors regarding project requirements and testing results, as well as maintaining safety standards and quality control throughout the projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.
• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, and client representatives regarding project requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites as needed.
• Follow safety rules and practices, performing pre-task planning before executing work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of experience required.
• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Nice-to-haves

• Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
