About the position

The Construction Materials Technician at Terracon will be responsible for performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of various construction materials. This role is essential for ensuring quality and safety standards on construction projects, contributing to the community, and supporting the company's commitment to employee ownership and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding project requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas, ensuring they meet safety standards.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites as needed.
• Follow safety rules and practices, performing pre-task planning and reporting any safety issues to management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of experience required.
• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Nice-to-haves

• Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
